Your guide to effective home workouts

Push-Ups

Push-ups are a classic bodyweight exercise that strengthen your chest, shoulders, triceps, and core. Start in a plank position with your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width, then lower your body until your chest almost touches the floor. Push back up to the starting position. Aim for 3 sets of 10-15 reps.

Squats

Squats target the lower body, including your quads, hamstrings, and glutes. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lower your body as if sitting back into a chair, keeping your chest up and knees over your ankles. Stand back up and repeat for 3 sets of 12-15 reps.

Planks

Planks are perfect for building core strength. Get into a push-up position but with your weight on your forearms instead of your hands. Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels and hold for 30 seconds to a minute. Repeat for 3 sets.

Lunges

Lunges engage multiple muscle groups in your legs and glutes. Step forward with one leg and lower your hips until both knees are bent at around a 90-degree angle. Push back to the starting position and alternate legs. Aim for 3 sets of 10-12 lunges per leg.

Burpees

Burpees are a full-body workout that builds endurance and strength. Start in a standing position, drop to a squat, kick your feet back into a plank, return to squat, and jump up. Repeat this sequence for 3 sets of 8-10 reps.
